Welcome to another episode of SithVamp Reviews. Well, as the rock band Green Day would say: “Summer has come and passed”, people are going back to work, kids are going back to school, some students are even starting college, so I’ll say goodbye to this wonderful season on SithVamp Reviews too, by reviewing a movie that shows how some of my favorite cartoon characters spent Summer: this is Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation.

Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation came out in 1992. The movie opens at Acme Looniversity in Acme Acres, where all the students are singing a song about waiting for the clock to strike 3. After the song, the clock indeed strikes 3 and the students are happy that school is over. Then we begin the many plots of the movie.

First off, we see Plucky walking home with Hamton, and Hamton tells Plucky that he and his family are going to a theme park called Happy World Land. When he hears this, Plucky wants to go with Hamton, but he can’t because he’s not part of Hamton’s family. But after some shenanigans, Hamton’s family takes Plucky with them.

Then we see Babs, who is trying to relax and sunbathe, but Buster spoils her relaxation, by shooting his squirt gun at her. This leads into a prank war between Buster and Babs, which ends with Babs opening the dam and flooding Acme Acres. When the water prank war is over, Buster and Babs get on a table and they use it as a raft to float downstream.

Then we cut to the beach, where Fowlmouth approaches Shirley, asking her out for a date at the “dadgum” movies. Since she knows how obnoxious he is, Shirley turns down Fowlmouth’s offer. Then Fifi comes to Shirley’s stand. Fifi has a crush on skunk super star Johnny Pew and asks Shirley if she knows whether she’ll meet him or not. Then Fowlmouth asks Shirley again and this time Shirley accepts, knowing that otherwise Fowlmouth won’t leave her alone.

Then we see Plucky and Hamton’s family again, who are still driving, and Plucky is disgusted by their family habits. Then they see a tunnel. They decide to hold their breath. Hamton tells Plucky that they do this because they make a wish and if they manage to hold their breath all the way through, that wish might come true. Plucky decides to hold his breath too, wishing he was in Happy World Land. Unfortunately, Plucky can’t hold his breath.

We then cut back to Buster and Babs, who are still rafting with Byron Bassett. Suddenly, they see a waterfall. Buster and Babs fall off the waterfall, however Superman saves them. But instead of thanking him, the Bunnies tell Superman to get lost. Wow, ungrateful much? I know it’s just a joke, but really? Say, Buster and Babs, if you guys were in danger, like say, you were attacked by the Decepticons and Optimus Prime came to save you, would you just tell him and the Autobots to buzz off? Anyway, Superman drops Buster and Babs and when they reach the ground, they continue their journey by walk.

However, they are not alone: Buster and Babs are confronted by a group of hillbilly possums, who take the Bunnies to their shack. While Buster and one of the Possums: Banjo Possum play a concert (Buster on his body parts and Banjo on his… well, Banjo), we see a hilarious chase scene, where the other Possums chase Babs, trying to eat her. Babs manages to get away from the Possums, then she grabs Buster and the two get back on the raft and continue rafting.

Then we see Fifi trying to get inside the hotel and meet Johnny Pew. Unfortunately Fifi doesn’t succeed, because the manager recognizes her and throws her out twice, and when she tries to smuggle herself inside as room service food, Fifi finds that she’s sent to the wrong room. Fifi ends up in a trash can, crying, when suddenly Johnny Pew walks by, offering Fifi a handkerchief. Fifi then immediately glomps Johnny and asks for his autograph. Johnny doesn’t have a pen, instead he tells Fifi to carry his stuff for him. Fifi accepts, not knowing yet that Johnny is just using her as a mule.

Then it’s nighttime, and Buster and Babs are still on the raft, when they see a mansion. Buster opens the door and sees that the residents of the mansion are a family of alligators: the Boos. The Boo sisters: Big Boo, Sissy Boo and Little Boo all fall in love with Buster and their father, Big Daddy Boo arranges the wedding. However, the Boo Sisters start fighting over who should marry Buster, but Big Daddy decides that all three sisters can marry Buster. Wow… three brides for just one groom? That’s a little unfair, don’t you think? Anyway, in the end, Buster is saved by Babs, who tricks the Boos, leads them to the gazebo and blasts them out into the sky with fireworks. Then Babs and Buster continue their adventure.

Then we see (sigh) Elmyra, who’s looking for her lost kitty. Elmyra and her family go to a safari park, and Elmyra secretly gets out of the car and goes into the jungle to look for her kitty. She first takes off a cheetah’s fur, then captures some baby animals, ties them up and tortures them. The animals get free and tell their King: the Lion about Elmyra and ask him to stop her. But even the Lion can’t stop Elmyra, because she shaves his mane and makes him look like Bart Simpson.

We then see Plucky and the Pig family again, who stop at a gas station. The Pig family gets in jumpsuits to clean the restroom, while Plucky is trying to get some water, but he’s stuck to his seat. When the Pig family finishes cleaning the restrooms, they leave before Plucky could even get a sip of water.

Plucky and the Pig family keep driving, until it starts raining. Suddenly they stop, because they see a scary-looking hitchhiker. The family offers the hitchhiker a ride, but Plucky is terrified by him. Hamton’s dad turns on the radio, where the announcer says that there’s a killer on the loose with long black hair, a red baseball cap and orange shoes. Plucky notices that the hitchhiker is having these features too, but before the radio announcer says which number to call, Hamton’s dad turns off the radio. The thing that makes the Killer go crazy is pork, and since he’s sitting with a family of pigs, the Killer puts on his hockey mask and pulls out his chainsaw. Plucky tries to tell the family, but Hamton’s mom tells him to sit down. Since this attempt of his fails, Plucky quickly writes a letter to Shirley. The letter gets delivered, and we get this pretty funny scene, where Roadrunner gets run over by the mail truck.

Anyway, Shirley gets the letter, but before she can read it, Fowlmouth grabs her. They arrive at the movies, and Fowlmouth is talking through the entire movie, annoying the audience. Since he won’t shut up, Fowlmouth is thrown into the movie screen, from where the actors throw him out of the theater. Fifi and Johnny Pew are in the theater too, and Fifi is getting tired of carrying Johnny’s stuff around. Then another girl skunk, Bimbette passes by and asks for Johnny’s autograph. Johnny happily signs *FIFI’s* autograph for Bimbette, and this is when Fifi snaps. She yells at Johnny for being a jerk, and kicks him out of the theater, saying: “You, Monsieur Pew, STINK!!!”. Johnny flies out of the theater, right into Elmyra’s arms. Elmyra mistakes Johnny for a kitty, grabs him and takes him away. Well, since he was a jerk to Fifi in the movie, I do not feel sorry for Johnny. I think he deserved to be Elmyra’s victim.

We then see Buster and Babs again, who are still floating on the river on the raft. Babs says she wants to go home, when suddenly Buster sees a steamboat. They manage to get on the steamboat, when suddenly, they’re confronted by the ship’s captain: Captain Tupelo Toad. Babs then starts singing and Captain Tupelo Toad asks her and Buster to perform a show for the boat’s passengers. The Bunnies agree.

We then see Plucky and the Pig family, who still have the Killer with them. The Killer sees Plucky and since he also goes crazy by duck meat, he takes out his chainsaw, attacks Plucky and chases him around in the car. Plucky tries to tell Hamton’s dad, but he’s completely oblivious to the killer. Then the car stops and Plucky gets out and hides. The Killer gets out and while he’s looking for him, Plucky gets back in the car and he and the Pig family drive off, leaving the Killer behind.

And after that long and dreadful trip, they finally arrive at Happy World Land. Plucky and the Pigs go on the monorail and they see all the rides, but they don’t try out any of them, because Hamton’s dad says they only came to see the rides so they can decide which rides to sit on the next time they come. This, of course, disappoints Plucky. The Pig family then starts their journey back to Acme Acres with a disappointed Plucky. When they get back to Acme Acres, Plucky is ready to go home, but not before the Pigs make him watch their slideshow. Then Plucky immediately runs home.

We then see the steamboat again, where Buster and Babs perform the show, until the lights go up and the Bunnies discover that the audience includes the villains they met on their journey: the Possums and the Alligators! Buster and Babs start running and the villains start chasing them. Luckily, the Bunnies are saved by Byron Bassett, who flies down and takes them to shore. But danger is not over yet for Buster and Babs, because not only are they being chased by the Possums and the Gators, but they also bump into the Killer, who tried to kill Plucky earlier. Luckily, the Bunnies and Byron are saved by Banjo Possum. Banjo says he’s not like the other Possums and he offers to help the Bunnies get home to Acme Acres.

The Killer chops down the tree, so Buster, Babs, Byron and Banjo get in a mine cart, and then we see a chase scene kind of similar to the one in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom: Buster, Babs, Byron and Banjo are riding the mine cart in the tunnels, while the Killer is chasing them in another mine cart. Eventually, Babs gets tired of the chase, and in the end, she and the others get away from the Killer and get back home to Acme Acres, through a plot hole. They land right in front of Acme Looniversity, where Gogo Dodo signs that the new school year has begun. Buster, Babs and the other students go back to school and Banjo decides to join Acme Loo too.

And the movie ends with all the students going back to school at Acme Looniversity and singing a song of how they enjoyed their vacation, and since this movie was a direct-to-video movie, they sing to the viewers that they can rewind the movie and watch it again.

And that’s Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation. What do I think of it? It’s pretty good. It’s a nice cartoon movie that shows what the students of Acme Looniversity are doing in the summer, when they’re not learning about cartoons.

Good things:
- I like the multiple plots going on
- The animation is neat

Bad things:
- Johnny Pew being a jerk to Fifi (good thing Karma bit him in the ass in the end)
- Plucky not getting to go on any of the rides at Happy World Land
- Elmyra

Favorite character:
- Hamton
- Fifi
- Babs
- Shirley
- Buster
- Banjo Possum
- Hamton’s Mom
- Plucky
- Bimbette
- The Boo Sisters

Least favorite character:
- Elmyra
- Johnny Pew
- The Killer
- The Possums (except for Banjo)
- Fowlmouth

So overall, I think Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation is pretty good. I’m giving it 9 out of 10. I really did enjoy the Summer of 2015, and I’m kind of disappointed that it’s over, but I know that there’s always a next Summer. I hope the Summer of 2016 will be a good one too. See you next time on SithVamp Reviews. Until then, to quote Green Day: Wake Me Up when September Ends.
